Oh me. Oh my.

OK, so maybe I'm being a little dramatic.. but still. It's my blog.. I can be dramatic if I want. So, anyway.. I've been looking at houses.. and looking at houses.. and looking at houses.. While there are some I like nothing has really popped out at me.. well except one house. And then there are houses that I'm like, "Oh that's nice.. oh I could see that room being Zoey's and that one being Jon Kent or Nathan's. Oh and that could be the playroom.." Then I get to the kitchen and it's just.... wrong. Wallpaper galore and frankly I will not have the time to rip it down and figure something else out. I see wallpaper and it's immediately.. no. I'm sure once we get up there and actually talk to a realtor and see some houses I may feel better. I just wish I knew for sure which neighborhoods were good ones.. what school systems are good, etc. That way I could narrow my search a bit. All this still doesn't seem real. Feels more like I'm looking for a place to stay on vacation.

Tomorrow is Nathan's 1st birthday party. Which I've already stated. Everything is good to go. Just have to pick up the balloons and cake. And do a quick run through of the house. Tomorrow morning the kids have a little kick off to their t-ball season. It's at 9am. Then the rest of the day will be just getting all the party details worked out. Kent's work was supposed to do an Easter egg hunt tomorrow but they put it off until next Saturday. Thank goodness! Then at 5pm it will be time to celebrate little man's first year! I can't believe it's been a full year. Hopefully all the grands and great grands will enjoy themselves. Pictures to come..

You can try to get the seller's to change the wallpaper or paint the walls to a neutral color in your negotiations...it's possible, especially if they really want to sell. ...but I know what you mean. When we were looking I'd love a house and then find one thing that I just didn't like and that would ruin it.

Have a Happy Birthday Party! :)

Yea wallpaper sure is a pain in the butt... it's been the biggest hassle in our process so far.

Have you looked around for some type of local forum or website that may have more specific neighborhood info? I know here in Louisville we have a website for locals with forums and I've seen quite a few people on there asking for advice on what parts of town are best because they are moving here. Good luck, I'm sure you'll find "the one".

I hope his party goes well!

Aww Emily I can totally understand how you feel about finding a house somewhere that you don't know. I wanted to let you know that I grew up in SC til I was 16 so I may be able to help you with what area/schools are better. I can also talk to my sister and cousin that are still living there now as well for you. If you would like to email me and let me know what area Kent will be working in I will be glad to help you with any advice I can. My email is tnlsmommy@gmail.com

Wallpaper sucks. Truly. I've never figured out why people use the stuff. Give me paint anyday.

Still, I bet you'll find something good.

Happy birthday to Nathan!!! Hope is party is a huge success.
