Last Day of Soccer

Today was the kids' last game of soccer for the season. They won their last game. Then we had to have a "shoot out" with the "cheating team". They ended up winning for the season. Our kids didn't care. They were thrilled with their little participation trophies. Anyway, at one point in the game Zoey somehow got the ball and she dribbled it all the way down to the goal WITHOUT being touched and just barely and I mean BARELY missed the goal. It was soooo awesome. She ran back and was jumping around, spinning around.. she thought she had scored. Everyone in the crowd was cheering for her. She is the youngest player in the league, so it was totally cute. She was just thrilled. Anyway, after the game our team had a team party. The kids played, we grilled out, the kids got prizes and then they all got to go on a hayride. They had a blast. I was really proud of how our team did this year. We were the underdogs and really proved everyone wrong. Basketball season sign ups are in December. Then games start after the first of the year. We are going to sign Jon Kent up. He loves, loves, loves basketball. Zoey doesn't care for it, so she will sit this one out. I wish there was something for her to do.. like dance or something. But the only dance we have in our area, you have to stay with it until the end of the year program.. and I just don't care to put THAT much money into it without knowing if Zoey would really stick it out. Ya know? Anyway, soccer is over.. now our days (and WEEKENDS!!) are our own for awhile.

Too cute!! We're taking the winter season off ourselves. I just need a break and with Chad deployed I'm trying to simplify our life as much as possible and basketball is one sport that neither boy has been overly thrilled with, and last year was horrible for Jacob (bad coach) and Jack just didn't care to play and had Chad to coach him! LOL Having some downtime will be good for all, we're in Awana...so that's enough right now!
