After this weekend spent up where our "new" home is going to be, the whole moving thing is starting to sink in and hit me hard. We went up to South Carolina to meet Kent's new boss and his family. Super, super nice people. They have three kids. A boy who is 6, another boy who is 4 and a girl who is 2. So they are all pretty close to the same ages as our three. They were wonderful to us. We met them Friday night, when out to eat and just had a good time. At first I was pretty timid. I'm like that. Don't make friends easily, takes me awhile to warm up, etc. But seriously, by the time we left that night I was able to talk and not feel *as much* anxiety about the whole meeting new people thing. Then Saturday Gary (new boss) took us around town and showed us the different communities and subdivisions. There was a lot to take in and it overwhelmed me. I was trying to remember everything and where all the different places were at, etc. I literally had a headache by the time we got back to his house. Zoey stayed with Gary's wife, Dana, and her kids while Kent, myself, Jon Kent (he was too shy to stay) and Nathan went out looking. Then we all piled up and went to Kent's new work's picnic. We met a lot of people there and they were all very nice. Very welcoming and encouraging. When we got back to the hotel we crashed.. or at least attempted to. Nathan wasn't liking the fact that he was in a pack-n-play and not in his bed. Plus the fact that we were in a one room hotel room. So yeah.. it took him awhile to go to sleep. Then today (Sunday) we went to church with Gary and his family. Then out to eat lunch and then headed back home. On the way up there it took us roughly 4-5 hours to get there. That was with stopping for lunch, potty breaks and a cranky baby. On the way home it took us 3 hours and 45 minutes, because the kids slept like almost 2 hours and then we just hit good traffic. We were all very happy to get back home.. or as Jon Kent said, "his old home". I'm looking forward to sleeping in my bed tonight. We go back up there in two weeks to house hunt. Things are starting to come together and if I'm to be really honest.. it's scary.
