We are here

We left Alabama at 1pm. 3 hours and 40 minutes later we arrived at our temporary housing apartment. It's a 3 bedroom and 2 bath apartment. Overall it's nice. Basic, no extras but to be temporary housing it's not all that bad. There is one small problem. This is the master bedroom.

I told Kent he could be Ricky and I would be Lucy... (Please tell me someone got that joke) We are calling tomorrow to ask for ONE bigger bed. We told them what we wanted and they said that's what they would have for us.. but apparently someone wasn't listening very well.

To be honest, I'm already home sick. I started getting that sickening feeling when I was unpacking and realizing that this is NOT a vacation. Which I knew, but it felt more like we were packing to go on vacation than moving at the time. I teared up and wanted to grab all the kids and just go home. But then I thought.. "this is home or at least this area is home". We have to make do here and make this our home. It's going to take a lot of getting used to and A LOT of visits to and FROM family. But we'll make it.. we always do.

Tomorrow I told the kids we were going on an adventure (if it's not raining.. which it has been since we got here and some fierce lightening as well). We are going to start figuring out where everything is around here. The parks, good swimming places, etc. Might even swing by the new house to at least show the kids the neighborhood. We'll see.

I'm off. Night all.

PS: I love and miss my family. DEARLY!

Glad to hear that you made it ok! That is too funny to have 2 twin beds to sleep on!!

I hope you are able to find your way around your new area of "home". Hopefully things will start looking up once you get moved into your new house!! Hang in there, you are a very strong woman!!

I got the Ricky/Lucy joke. Hilarious. I hope y'all can get that straightened out.

I would definitely be home sick, too. I imagine it will just take time to get used to the new area and meet some neighbors. Hopefully you can all adjust and feel "at home" soon.

Have fun exploring tomorrow!

Hon I know it's not easy, but I'm praying that soon, very soon..it feels like HOME and that although you will miss your family, you'll find friends quickly that will FEEL like family and wonder how you ever lived your life without them in your life, too!

Take it one day at a time. I'm really behind, going to try my best to catch up!

Oh man, LOL at the beds. IDK why but the first thing I thought of was the Flintstones, lol...I think Fred and Wilma slept in 2 twin beds. Glad you all made it safely!
