First Splashes of the Season

The kids had a ball playing in the pool this afternoon. The water was freezing, but kids their ages just don't care. They just enjoyed it because it was fun. Oh, to be that care free!

"Oh, thank you! I'm free!!"

Randomly Chatting

Tons of tidbits to talk about... Let's get started, shall we?

Last night was my final night of school. :::huge sigh of relief::: I'm hoping my grades post soon. I got my lab test back from my final lab in A&P. It was an 84. I was very disappointed. I felt really good about that lab. I knew all my muscle groups and such on the models, but it was those stupid arms and legs muscles that got me. Who knew there were so many of those boogers!?!?

We got our appraisals back from the two realtors that came out a couple weeks ago. Our house has lost value. Thanks to the lovely economy. We had about $12,000 in equity when we built the house three years ago. Now it's "worth" $4,000 less than we paid for it. Wonderful. We did pick our realtor though and she is supposed to come out Monday and hopefully the house will be on the market by the middle of next week.

The moving company sent out a surveyor to survey our house to see how much packing materials he would have to set up to bring and how many movers to send out to the house. It literally took him 15 minutes to go through my house, the storage building and the garage. Apparently we don't have a lot of stuff. That's a good thing in my book though. He should have been here last night though when we were cleaning out the storage building. It looked like it had thrown up into our back yard. It was pretty ridiculous. We got rid of a lot of stuff and burn even more.

We have our moving date (have I already written about this??? I'm too lazy to go back and check) of July 3rd. Yes, the day before the 4th. How crazy is that? The movers will come the 2nd, pack us up and then we will ship out the 3rd. When Kent told me that, it was the first time my heart sank. It's slowly becoming more real. I'm extremely proud of Kent and his ability to get this promotion, but at the same time.. I'm sad. I'm sure that's normal. I am excited about the move and am trying to look at this as an adventure. A time for us to spread our wings and see if we can fly. Oh how I hope we can fly.

Kent and I worked out together Monday. It was the first time Kent had really worked out hard like that in months. So naturally he was pretty sore that night. The next morning (Kent is going to kill me.. lol) Kent went to use the bathroom (TMI??) and said he thought he was going to have to call for me to help him off of the toilet. He said we thought he was going to have to bang in to work. He would have said something like this:
K: Hey, Lt. This is O'viller. I'm going to need 8 hours of sick leave.. I can't get off the crapper.
Is it wrong that I'm laughing? Out loud?

My workouts are going well. Usually I do about 20 minutes on the treadmill and then do some light weight training with 2 minutes of cardio in between each set of weights. I usually workout about 45 minutes. I hope to get that to an hour and 15 minutes eventually. I have missed working out. Gives me time to think and just get some stress out.

Well, that about does it for my randomness. I hope you have enjoyed it. I surely did.

Let's take a trip..

..down memory lane.

I'm 9 or 10 years old. Kent and I are "boyfriend and girlfriend". Technically we saw each other at church and liked each other so that made us "boyfriend and girlfriend". He went on vacation with his grandparents, I believe, and brought back a sand dollar necklace that he bought for me with his grass cuttin' money. So naturally, I needed to purchase something for him in return. Except I didn't cut grass. So my mom came to the rescue. We went to Wal-Mart and got him an I.D. bracelet. Had his name engraved and everything. Very snazzy for 1993 (??). Anyway, I gave it to him and was very proud of myself. The next time I saw him he came running up to me and showed me his ankle. There in all it's fake, gold, glory was the I.D bracelet that I had bought for him. It apparently didn't fit his wrist so he thought it would be great as an anklet.

I still bring up that story whenever I can.

Then this evening Kent and I were cleaning out our storage building and Kent found a box of old letters and stuff that I had written him. And there in the box was the anklet.. err.. I mean bracelet. A huge smile came over my face. It's just one of those things that is between us and will always be special to us. You know?

Ahh.. memories..

Wow! I got a raise!

Even in this economy I managed to get a 5% pay raise. Now I'm making $122,732! Who knew!?!?!

Just the greatest picture- EVER!

Not Me! Monday- It's Baaaaack!

It's been awhile since there has been a Not Me! Monday on this blog. I really didn't feel like doing it if MckMama wasn't and with Stellan being in the hospital for over 5 weeks, I just wanted any posts about him to be about him. So anyway, it's back and here we go!

I did not have to get on to Jon Kent at church because he thought it would be just grand to lift up the back of my dress and show my undies to all who cared to see. Thankfully no one was sitting behind us.

I did not gain 3 pounds this week despite the fact I have been at the gym. Yeah, yeah, yeah.. muscle weighs more than fat.. blah, blah, blah.

I have not been giving in to my children's demands simply because it's easier most days to just let them do whatever, in a reasonable manner, they want. Thusly, my oldest has not been skipping his naps. Which he obviously needs because he is passed out in his car seat before leaving the drive-way.

I did not catch Nathan playing in the toilet 1,246,476, 987,021 times this week and no there wasn't any pee in there when he did it.

So, what didn't happen in your house this week?

First time for everything.

Jon Kent and Zoey spent the night with their great grands last night. They then spent all day at our town's annual "Sunshine Saturday". Although it was a more cloudy/rainy/stormy Saturday. But sun did shine periodically. That counts, right? Anywho, when they got home I was looking stuff up on the internet and told them I needed them to play sweetly together. And wouldn't ya know.. that obliged! Even Nathan was happy and content to play with his older siblings.. only with one or two moments of making sure I hadn't run away! He must have missed his brother and sister.

Sidenote: Last night after Nathan had his bath I was taking him to his bed and as we walked passed Zoey's room Nathan leaned over and grunted towards her door. I told him she wasn't there, but he didn't believe me. So, I took him in there and showed him she wasn't there. He looked kind of confused. He did the same thing when we walked passed Jon Kent's bed. Again, I showed him no one was there. He still looked confused. He is so used to going to each of their rooms and giving them night-night kisses. Oh and Nathan is saying "Night-night" now. So sweet.

Back to my story. All the kids played wonderfully together. Which they always do.. for like 30 minutes. Then I'm called upon to do something or another. Once I'm involved it's hard for me to step away. But today they all played so well together and for a good amount of time. All I had to do was keep their cups full and some snacks on hand. The rest of the time they played with toys, watched a little bit of Noggin and just seemed to enjoy each other. It was really sweet. They then all got to spend the evening with my parents. Who took them to play games and out for supper. They are all asleep now. As Jon Kent told me earlier, "they've been busy today".
