Happy 11 Months, Nathan

Yes, it is true. This will be the last month that my baby, my last will be under a year old. Oh.My.Goodness. And... AND (!!!) he slept through the night last night. FIRST TIME EVER!!! I don't care if it was a fluke, he slept through the night. It's like he is turning into a big boy over night.. literally. *sigh* 31 days and counting until his first birthday.

Here is what Nathan is doing at 11 months:

  • Walking
  • He has 5 teeth
  • He only nurses 3 times a day now
  • He eats table food
  • He loves yogurt
  • He found his tongue
  • He is still mastering his sippy cup skills
  • Likes to shoot basketball in his little goal
  • He likes to be on the go
  • He doesn't like shoes
  • He is very much a momma's boy
  • Sleeping through the night.. ok, ok maybe not yet.. but he did!!

Happy 11 Months, Nathan!!

Thank Goodness It's Friday (Random!)

Kent is off tomorrow. We have no where to go, no where to be, nothing. We can just.. chill. Hallelujah!

Today I've been cleaning and washing clothes (6 loads done and folded). My vacuum has decided to up and die. Whatever. Kent called and I told him that it smelt like something was burning when I tried to vacuum and that I needed a new one. He agreed so hopefully by the time I need to vacuum again my new vacuum will be here..

Oh, how dreamy

I got 90% of the consignment stuff done yesterday. And it brought back memories. It usually does. I was tagging some of Nathan's itty bitty, just born clothes and it made me want a newborn again. Granted we are done and I know we are done but it still made me a little sad to know Nathan is our last. There is always grandchildren... after college.. after college.. after college.

All the clothes going into consignment. Usually I have a lot more.

Look at how itty bitty he used to be.

The weather here has been beautiful. My windows are up, the sun is shining, my house is clean.. well besides my carpets. Speaking of carpets.. Nathan is at the stage where he wants to steal the kids' cups. If I've told them once I've told them a million times to put their cups on the kitchen counter or table so that Nathan can't get to them. But they don't listen and Nathan will grab one take a huge swig and the let most of it roll back out of his mouth and onto my carpets. When I actually see it happen I clean it up, but today I found several, several spots where I didn't see it happen and now it's all dried. And I have no carpet cleaner currently.. so yeah that's driving me crazy.

Nathan is walking so well now. He will pull up and just take off. He is starting to learn how to pivot and will walk a great distance before falling over. It's cute and sad.. my baby is trying not to be a baby anymore.

Nathan showing off his walking skills.

Nathan likes playing in the toilet.. any toilet really. He doesn't discriminate. Drives me nuts. No matter how clean a toilet may look or even be.. you know there are poop germs in there. Gag. But he likes playing in toilets. Jon Kent and Zoey never did mess with the toilet.. ever. So this is new to me. Drives me nuts. If it gets quiet, I know where he is at.. taking a dive in the think tank.

Yes, I took a picture of the toilet.

Kent and my anniversary is coming up in a little over a week. We decided to not get each other anything and to just take a day for us and do whatever. We haven't really made any plans yet, but I am looking forward to it. Looking forward to just being with my husband and not worrying about the kids and mommy stuff. Every year since our 3rd anniversary I kid Kent that he can't give me the same gift he gave me that year again... We conceived Zoey.. Jon Kent was only 4 months at the time. So yeah...

I didn't get my A&P lab test back last night. My teacher canceled class last Tuesday and we didn't really know why. He said he was sick the whole weekend and didn't have time to grade our tests. I wasn't too upset by it because he is usually really good about getting our tests back to us (unlike my psy teacher) and if you are sick grading tests is probably the furthermost thing from your mind. He said he will have the tests by Tuesday so that will be good. I'm still holding out hope for a high B.

I know this complete post has been so random. Sorry. I just had a lot on my mind and wanted to get it all out. Enjoy your weekend!!

Psy class..

I have taken 3.. maybe 4 tests in there. I have only received my first test score back. It has been over a month.. running up on two months since I've seen my scores. It is driving my husband crazy. I frankly don't care only because I feel pretty certain that none of my tests are out of the A range. But he will ask me every night when I get home if I got my test scores back and I will tell him no and that she promised to have them by the next class time. And she has done that for close to two months now. Drives.Kent.Nuts.

In class tonight we were talking about early childhood and how kids at that age will make fun of each other and will always find something to fight about. A guy in my class was trying to give an example of how a child being dropped off at school can be disorienting just like he was disoriented his first week at boot camp for the Navy. At first he was going over all the place trying to link the two and while he was trying to do it some of the girls in the back were giggling at him and one girl even said, "How is standing at attention all day disorienting?" I couldn't help put wonder if they have moved past their early childhood phase.. I mean seriously.. grow up.

My teacher works at the local Jr. High school (ages 11-13) and she said that she feels like she is working in a maternity ward. There are currently 4 girls who are pregnant there. One due any day and the other, who hid it, is 7.5 months pregnant. She said what really got her was when a 12 (!!!!) year old girl came into her office today and said that she was 3 months pregnant and due right as school started next year. My teacher told her that the school would be willing to allow her to stay home for a few weeks after she had the baby (if school had already started). The little girl (because despite being pregnant that's what she is) told her, "Yeah, once I get all better I'll be back at school". That little girl hasn't a clue as to what is happening to her. It's just so incredibly sad and her whole childhood is gone. She is going to be a mom at the ripe old age of 13.

Yeah, that was class this evening. Interesting, no?

Oh the coversations that are had here in O'ville

Last night the kids and the hubs and yours truly were all playing in Zoey's room. Jon Kent was playing his V-tech Spiderman game, Zoey was playing with her billion and one puppies and Nathan was toddling (yes, toddling) around. Here is a little bit of our conversations.

Zoey: Play with this mommy puppy, Momma.
Me: OK. Where is the daddy puppy?
Zoey: Work.
***
Me: Jon Kent you get to go to big school after the summer is over.
Jon Kent: ::grumbles:: But I'm not 5 yet.
***
Zoey: I want to marry a big boy.
Me: After you go to school and then college, you can.
Zoey: I can?
Me: Yup, AFTER college.
Zoey: Can I have gurl babies and boy babies.
Me: If you want.
Zoey: Bubba! Bubba! I can get married and have gurl babies and boy babies.
Jon Kent: Yes Zoey I heard. But Zoey, only after you go to school and college.
Zoey: ::sigh:: I heard that, Bubba.
Jon Kent: I know you heard that.
Me: After you get married you can get your very own house with your husband.
Zoey: I can!!!!!!??!!!!
Me: Yup.
Zoey: Momma, will you go live with me at my new house?
Me: No, I have to stay here with daddy.
Zoey: ::she is literally crying here:: But I don't want you to live here with daddy, I want you to live with me.
Me: Aww, sweetie.. if you really want me to live with you once you get married I will.
Zoey: Thank you momma! ::sniff, sniff::
***
A little side note from the previous conversation...
Zoey: Bubba, when we get married you can have the boy babies and I will have the gurl babies.
Jon Kent: OK, Zoey.
Me: Sweetie, you can't marry your brother.
Zoey: Why?
Me: Because you just can't. We are in Alabama and all but still.. you just can't.
Zoey: But I want to.
Me: You will find a big boy that loves you and you can marry him.
Zoey: OK.
Me: But only AFTER you go to college.

Snow Videos

Nathan's First Snow -or- It Snowed!! It Snowed!!

Nathan got his first look of snow today. He didn't get to play in it, as he didn't really care for it one bit. But as long as he was inside he was happy to look at it.

We got roughly 3-5 inches of snow. Which for northerners isn't a lot, but the south it was a good amount. It started coming down hard around 6am and didn't really let up until after lunch.

We had a BLAST! The kids really loved it. They looked outside and said, "It's snowed!! Look!! It's snowed!!" The looks on their faces when we showed them were priceless. After breakfast we got them all bundled up and out we went. They walked around and threw snowballs and played on the trampoline.

Then we went right down the road and played at Kent's grandparents' house. They have a good hill for sledding so that's what we did. We had a raft like float that we used last summer at the beach. We blew it up and tied a rope to it and tied the rope to the 4-wheeler. It was a great time. The kids stayed out so much longer this year than last year (30 minutes tops). We were out there about 2 hours before they started feeling the chill.

We came in to warm up and the kids had hot chocolate. We also had lunch. Then it was time to go back out and have some more fun before the snow melted away. We went sledding and had more snowballs fights. Kent and I shared many faces full of snow from each other. It was just a great, great day. After all the playing and climbing hills we went inside for a nice nap. By the time everyone was up the snow had mostly melted.

Today was the perfect snow day. Now, I'm ready for spring!!
